Nur in Englisch: Introduction of the T7 Enhanced Drop Copy Service (EDC)

Eurex Circular 127/24 Introduction of the T7 Enhanced Drop Copy Service (EDC)

- Dieses Rundschreiben ist nur in Englisch verfügbar. -

1.   Introduction

As previously announced as part of T7 Release 13.0, Eurex will now introduce the Enhanced Drop Copy Service (EDC) via the Enhanced Drop Copy Interface (EDCI). EDC provides a comprehensive overview of all orders on a Trading Participant level including lean orders.

EDCI is designed for participants seeking to enhance their pre-trade risk monitoring capabilities, or who specifically want to gain a comprehensive overview of their order inventory including lean orders, e.g. for the purpose of reconciliation. The EDC broadcast can be consumed by Trading Participants for the activities of their own business unit, as well as by Clearing Members who are providing clearing services to selected Trading Participants and are interested in receiving their order information. Clearing Members require authorisation from the respective Trading Participant to access their order data. More details about the authorisation process can be found in the T7 Release Notes 13.0, Chapter 2, published on the Eurex website www.eurex.com under the link:

Support > Initiatives & Releases > T7 Release 13.0 > System Documentation > Overview and Functionality

EDC implements FIX Latest with simple binary encoding, own session layer and TLS encryption (v1.3 only). The implementation of TLS encryption will also be required inside Eurex Exchange's Equinix FR2 facility. Trading Participants or Clearing Members interested in receiving the EDC broadcast will have to order one or more EDC sessions. The order data to be received by the session(s) must be configured in the T7 Clearer GUI or T7 Admin GUI.

Start of simulation: 15 January 2025
Start of production: 24 March 2025

2.   Required action

No immediate action is required. Trading participants or clearing members interested in receiving the EDC broadcast must order one or more Enhanced Drop Copy sessions for the simulation and production environments.

3.   Details

A. Documentation

To coincide with the availability of EDC in the T7 Release 13.0 simulation environment, the respective T7 EDCI manual and message reference has been provided on the Eurex website under the link:

Support > Initiatives & Releases > T7 Release 13.0 > System Documentation > Trading Interfaces

B. Sessions

To receive the EDC broadcast, participants must order EDC sessions. The ordering of the EDC sessions for the simulation and production environment is now possible via the “Requests & Configuration” option in the “Technical Connection” section of the Member Section of Deutsche Börse Group.

As for any session type, the EDC session will incur a fee to cover the additional resources required to operate the interface on the Eurex side. The detailed fee information will be provided in a specific Eurex circular to be released in early 2025.

C. Infrastructure

The EDCI will share some of the existing ETI Low Frequency gateways and use separate ports. The following table provides an overview of the gateways which will be used for the EDCI:
