Eurex Exchange Readiness Newsflash | Next Generation ETD Contracts: Details on upcoming full-scope simulation period

Dear Eurex Participant,

The Eurex initiative “Next Generation ETD Contracts” will start with its full-scope simulation beginning of February 2022

Eurex will enhance the level concept for all Eurex Trading Participants and Clearing Members by switching the Contract Validation mapped to their Member ID in simulation to “Level 2” (LVL2) (i.e. Contract Date or Expiration Date = YYYY MM DD).

By updating the Contract Validation to LVL2, Participants will have access to sub-monthly contracts in the Eurex simulation environment.

  • As of 4 February 2022, the change to LVL2 will be visible for all Trading Participants and Clearing Members.
  • The Contract Validation change to LVL2 will be carried out by Eurex, no action is required by Eurex Clients or ISVs.

To provide sufficient testing opportunities during the 5-months long Next Generation ETD Contracts Member Simulation, Eurex will introduce sub-monthly expiring contracts in two different activation waves.

The first activation wave will be performed in February 2022 as part of the already introduced T7 Release 10.0 simulation and the second activation wave will be executed in May 2022 as part of the T7 Release 10.1 simulation. Activation of sub-monthly expiring contracts will take place in selected and already existing products which will be equipped with sub-monthly contract creation cycles.
